With the help of builder customs Two Es Machina, Yamaha has created a new XJR 1300 Yard Built Specials: Project X.
Last year, Yamaha has launched a brand new concept transform the current Yamaha “Yard Built Specials” by using preparers motorcycles, so they give them a new lease.
This year, the Japanese brand goes further, working with a manufacturer of customs: Deus Ex Machina. The Italian team has reworked the Yamaha XJR1300 to make a custom minimalist design. Inspired by the spirit of challenge, Deus Ex Machina, builder customs created the Yard Built Yamaha – Project X.
Each trainer has designed parts unique to Yamaha for customers to afford to create their own bike.Alessandro Rossi of Italy Deus Ex Machina tells how the manufacturer of Italian customs came to this result:
“For us, the Yamaha XJR1300 is an intriguing machine. We looked and we wondered what he was hiding under the frame of the bike. We were inspired by legendary motorcycle endurance race with their 70-80 year minimalist look, designed for one purpose: to win races. We have therefore chosen to reduce the XJR to create a stripped motorcycle, with a 1251 cm3 engine!
When we started to remove his body and accessories, we noticed that she had an aggressive form, like a bulldog with broad shoulders. So we decided to accentuate this impression by grafting it a wider handlebar and shaping by hand with aluminum body.
Once we were totally satisfied with the new design, we used a special paint on the metal. We called it “Transparent dark” because it is neither black nor brown, but both. An amber tint is visible with transparent qualities, so that the aluminum appears certain angles. The color is never the same, it is a very strange and beautiful painting which varies sunlight.
We have also made improvements to its equipment performance. We tweaked the suspension Öhlins added radial brakes and clutch lever Brembo, an exhaust LeoVince titanium pot, Pirelli and Streamline Magnesium Marvic wheels tires.
To complete the look of this bike, we still had a few alterations. The seat was covered with a mixture of leather and suede sides on top, like on a racing bike. This combination allows the driver to tighten the better the machine, which is more stable under acceleration, while the narrow seat allows him to discover the engine between her legs. We removed the speedometer, leaving only the tachometer -. Like on a real racing machine
