MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR

Three-cylinder 798 cm3 delivering 140 horsepower and 86 Nm to 168 kg dry

It will eventually not have to wait until EICMA to see MV Agusta unveil two new machines the Brutale RR 800 and RR Brutale 800 Dragster. More than simple upscale accessoirisations, these versions have a more powerful engine now up to 140 horsepower and 86Nm, and new chassis settings and equipment series revised upwards.

With nearly 15 horses more power, the Italian three cylinder was not derived from that of the F3 800 (148 hp) but the Brutale (125 horses). The gain in power was made possible by the new design of the air box which resulted in a modification of the tank, still cubing 16.6 liters. The new internal shape thereof has allowed the use of injectors which are now two 50mm by a cylinder against previously.

The sense of aesthetic detail

Aesthetically, the Brutale retains its original style and differs from the classical version by its Marzocchi fork which now has a golden or red color on the Dragster as well as its red and white or black and gray two-tone trim (black and red the Dragster). The seat has also been modified to improve the comfort of the driver and passenger. Finally, the LED rear light is also changed to have a better visibility of other users.

Electronics at the rendezvous

Equipped with MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) platform, boarded MV Agusta good number of driving aids and electronics. Among them are the acceleration electronic ride-by-wire, three driving modes (Sport, Normal, rain) and a customizable mode (Custom), traction control adjustable on 8 levels and switched off a Bosch ABS system and that a Quaickshifter EAS 2.0 for shifting on the fly.

A refined chassis

While the tubular lattice is identical to that of the original Brutale, the chassis has several modifications, notably in suspensions. We thus find a lighter Marzocchi fork and fully adjustable. Note also the introduction of new 5-spoke wheels on the Brutale and spoked wheels on the Dragster made of aluminum alloy and shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.
