EICMA 2014, the new Ducati 2015 – Growing family Panigale renewing two versions of Access and intermediate – Panigale and Panigale S – with a new engine of greater displacement and 10 hp more powerful than the 1199 it replaces. R keeps the engine in 1198 and is emphasized more his vocation for the track. They will arrive in the spring, prices virtually unchanged compared to previous models. Ducati 1299 Panigale 2015, has a dry weight of 166.5kg &  even with this high power to weight ratio, the latest generation motorcycle is easier and safer to ride.

Superquadro Engine 205 hp. Ducati 1299 panigale 2015, which is the homologated base for its world superbike machine, essentially making it a road-legal race motorbike with indicators and lights. It is fitted with the 1198cm3 superquadro motor that boasts titanium intake and exhaust valves and rod. Two-ring pistons and an extremely lightweight crankshaft which is balanced with tungsten inserts. This makes the ‘R’ capable of a torque value of 136.2 Nm at 10,250 rpm and a max power of 205 hp at 11,500 revs/minute.

At the Milan the Italian manufacturer has unveiled at the new 1299 Panigale arrogance that comes with the superbike arena back to compete on who has the most horsepower. The Panigale 2015 splits to clearly separate the top of the range, R, of which we speak here, and the base and S versions of the input and intermediate family. The 1299 Panigale mountain Superquadro a new engine with displacement increased to 1285 cm3, capable of 144.6 Nm of torque (10% more) and well 205 hp, which is 10 more than the previous version.

The list of improvements made to the motor is very long, starting from the heads and the angle of 21 between the rear cylinder and the horizontal plane, which allows the positioning of the engine later to the advantage of the distribution of the weights. Also redesigned exhaust system and revised the chassis: aluminum monocoque structure has been changed in the units of steering angle and the fixing of the swingarm that bring the trail from 100 mm to 96 mm and the weight distribution is divided into 52% front and 48% rear. The suspension system includes a pressurized Marzocchi upside-down 50 mm in diameter and a fully adjustable Sachs mono for the base and a Smart Öhlins EC with event-based control for S (adjusts automatically and in real time depending on the preload type of driving and asphalt).

The whole family 1299 Panigale/Panigale R is equipped with Brembo Monobloc M50 calipers acting on discs 330 mm in diameter. Cornering The ABS is standard: uses the lightweight unit 9.1MP Bosch. The rims of the 1299 Panigale are 3-spoke, 3.5-inch front and 6.00 inches in the rear, while the S (and the Panigale R) have elegant blacks wheels, 3-spoke, forged and machined. To enrich the already large electronic package of the “old” Panigale, now is the intertial Measurement Unit, a device that measures acceleration with respect to three axes and angular velocities with respect to two axes, calculating angle of roll and pitch of the bike in space.

With the IMU working Cornering standard ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and the S version, the Smart Öhlins EC. The electronic component would be at home in the garage of a team of the championship: Ride-by-Wire (RBW), the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA +) and Ducati Riding Modes, which combine differently Ducati Traction Control (DTC), the Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), ABS Cornering, Engine Brake Control (EBC) and the S version, including the Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES). On the S version the impressive scope of electronic devices is completed by the command buttons mounted on the handlebars of a racing, rapid adjustments to the DTC system, or DWC EBC during track use. The Riding Mode retain the names of the old model, Race, Sport and Wet: the first two are at full power and for different settings of the devices elettornici DTC, EBC DWC and ABS. The Wet instead of cutting the power to 120 hp. The family Panigale will arrive in early spring: the base will cost 20,990 Euros, S 25 740 while the range-topping R Panigale 32,990 Euros.
